Apple do it again - Video Marketing Examples #112

Since we’ve been sending these weekly emails, we’ve probably written more of them about Apple than any other brand - which just goes to show how good they are at reinventing themselves and presenting their brand and products in different, interesting ways.
The new launch ads for iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are no exception: a departure from typical Apple ad staples, and a bold and effective message.
This really is an uncanny mix of animation and live action - live action backgrounds, animated characters holding live-action product mockups! (We had to pause the video just to unpack this sentence!)
The vibrant and psychedelic colour palette is decidedly un-Apple, which is a clever way to overcome banner blindness and grab the viewer's attention: our first thought, honestly, was ‘Who and what is this ad for?!’
Of course, the easily recognisable Apple typeface ties it all together at the end, striking the perfect balance between ‘new’ and ‘familiar.’
This is a great example of how a brand can take a risk and experiment with new styles and techniques to create a visually stunning and memorable video marketing campaign.
