B2B - Boring to boring? Video Marketing Examples #43

For decades, there’s been a myth that B2B marketing is BORING. 

Compared to its warm, wacky, humorous B2C counterpart, B2B marketing has been encouraged to reject humour and personality and instead stick to logic and facts.

Of course, this is changing fast.

For example: if you were to think of the most typical of B2B brands, KPMG likely wouldn’t be far from your thoughts. 

Defined by Wikipedia as an 'Anglo-Dutch multinational professional services network, and one of the Big Four accounting organizations’ (😒) they are about as stuffy and corporate as it gets.

So it was fascinating to see this very “un-KPMG” viral video doing the rounds on Linkedin last week… 

Far from what you might expect from a KPMG video, this is a funny, warm-hearted send-up of the challenges faced by workers returning to the office post-pandemic. 

Having originally been created and posted in Norwegian, it was translated into English - and so far has gathered around 675k views, 100k reactions and 500+ comments (absolutely annihilating the engagement metrics of basically all other content on their page.) 

If KPMG can create something light and amusing - and get such great results - then seriously: what’s stopping you?
