Clean and simple: Video Marketing Examples #45
Obligatory disclaimer: This isn't an ad or sponsored content. We simply wanted to share this analysis with you as a great, recent example of video marketing.
This week’s example brings new meaning to the idea of ‘clean’ design!
It’s an animated ad campaign promoting Lifebuoy - the leading soap brand owned by Unilever.
This is animated video at its best: playful, whimsical and fun.
The 1950s vibe of the custom-created soundtrack calls back to a golden age - a not-so-subtle reference to the tradition and heritage of this famous old brand (it was founded in 1895!)
And animation really works here - why? Because soap exists to kill germs, which are, of course, invisible. So how do you illustrate the product working?
Like THIS, of course!

The video also does a great job in encouraging the user to think about some of the things they do that might transfer bacteria, in a (relatively) non-gross way!

The takeaway here? Animation isn’t just a great way to create something fun, light-hearted and engaging.
It can help visually articulate the problems solved by a product or service, in a much more flexible way than basically any other medium.
