Outrun the Elite - Video Marketing Examples #138

Obligatory disclaimer: This isn't an ad or sponsored content. We simply wanted to share this analysis with you as a great, recent example of video marketing.

Something a little different this week!

Many trainer brands (sneaker brands for our US cousins!) pitch their products as helping their customers outrun the elite.

But French running store Distance made that literal with their latest campaign!

Launching their new product line, they invited customers to literally "rob" (steal) the coveted gear from the store.

But there was a catch: To pass security, you had to outrun elite sprinter Mickael Zeze. (Only 2 out of 76 succeeded!)

It was a tongue-in-cheek way for the brand to reinforce their identity as a store for serious runners.

The video captures the thrilling (and often humorous) heist attempts and becomes a great piece of shareable, humorous content.

Feeling inspired?

This isn’t going to work for everybody, but sometimes, you need to reframe your mentality from creating content, to creating a ‘stunt.’ A stunt like this can help encapsulate your brand ethos, and gain publicity - which is what a new product line really needs most.

By engaging real people in your stunt, you can capture shareable, buzzworthy video content that really makes a splash.
