Party Like It’s 2024! - Video Marketing Examples #50

It may feel like 5 minutes since the end of the last European Championships, but this week UEFA launched the brand identity for its successor - EURO 2024, which will take place in Germany.

And it really caught our eye! (particularly because, at its heart, was animated video!)

Frankly, this is everything that’s great about animated video.

The brand, as you can tell from the logo, is designed to be vibrant and colourful - centred around the bold, solid colours which surround the tournament trophy and reference the flags of the nations involved.  

These coloured ‘ribbons’ are used to piece the whole video together, rippling, twisting and turning us from one scene to another.

By our count there are more than 50 characters in the video - carefully constructed to demonstrate cultural and social diversity. (Purely from a logistical point of view, that’s 50 actors that would have been required..) 

And then there are the locations and famous buildings that, in a live action video, would have required film crews, closed streets and plenty of other logistical issues. 

Put simply, animation gives you the power to design whatever and whoever you want - characters, scenery, transitional elements uniquely bespoke to your brand - and that’s what makes this work so powerfully.

It drives down cost, increases visual impact - and creates a slick, striking aesthetic that really creates a buzz around the event.
