Sign of the times: Video Marketing Examples #96

Obligatory disclaimer: This isn't an ad or sponsored content. We simply wanted to share this analysis with you as a great, recent example of video marketing.

Sometimes, video marketing is pretty simple. You demo a product, explain an idea, show off an app or website - and that’s that.

Your audience watches, they understand, they (hopefully) buy or sign up. Job done!

Sometimes, though, for better or worse, video marketing is more abstract than that: an opportunity for your brand to stand for something more than sales and downloads.

One brand that does this very well is the British chocolate company, Cadbury.

In this campaign, rather than pushing their latest product, they’ve partnered with the National Deaf Children’s Society to essentially help people be more inclusive by learning a little sign language.

Searching ‘Sign with Fingers’ leads you to a beautiful microsite which features a whole range of video lessons helping people learn how to sign basic questions and phrases.

Chocolate and sign language are about as far removed as two niche topics could be.

But putting them together in this way is a great example of how brands can support causes and do good in the world using video - while broadening their brand appeal at the same time.
