WeTransfer prove the power of animation goes BEYOND video: Video Marketing Examples #14

Mention ‘animation’ to most marketers and they’ll most likely think of full animated video content.
But, as animation aficionados, we’re big believers that the power of this versatile medium goes way beyond video.
It was cool to see WeTransfer embrace this idea recently, with a series of animated graphics - sometimes called microinteractions - designed to add flavour and personality to their user experience.
Users see these graphics when they share or download a file, get asked for a password, find a broken link - as well as many other scenarios throughout the interface.
They’re represented in a humorous, charming way - success, for example, being depicted as crossing a finish line...

And the whole set of illustrations is bursting with character, personality and colour...

The point of all this, of course, is to turn pretty bland, uninspiring experiences into memorable little moments.
Nessim Higson, ECD at WeTransfer, describes these moments as “your visual cheerleader, accompanying you in every step and celebrating these small moments with you.”
Added up across an entire website or software product, you can imagine the cumulative effect: it’s a key differentiator and allows the raw personality of your brand to bleed through into every aspect of the user experience.
Browsing your website or using your product suddenly feels a bit different to the other guys - a joyful, engaging experience. And isn’t that what it’s all about?
